Application Solutions offerings include hosted Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint Services, Citrix services for thin-client application enabling and Grapevine Messaging services for robust outsourced SMS messaging.
What Is Hosted Exchange?
Hosted Exchange offers GAMCO clients a hosted, outsourced and fully managed implementation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. The e-mail infrastructure is located within GAMCO’s Data Centre and incorporates a range of security, content and management features in addition to redundant network systems and skilled administrative staff.
Exchange 2003 offers breakthrough advances in performance and stability, along with staff productivity gains and reductions in total cost of ownership. Users are provided with a wide choice of flexible ways to access their mailboxes including Outlook 2003 and Outlook Web Access (Outlook via a Web browser). This functionality serves to empower organisations, enabling more effective and efficient communication channels and ultimately enhancing productivity and competitiveness.
There are two options available, depending on the specific requirements of the organisation and users.

E-mail is the most widely used collaborative technology, and with Hosted Exchange, organisations can communicate efficiently and securely and take advantage of a number of productivity tools integrated into the system, such as calendaring, scheduling and task lists.
- Cost benefits: Lower operating costs and avoid IT capital expenditure with Hosted Exchange. Deploying a fully-fledged Exchange system in-house is capital and labour intensive. Hosted Exchange hosts an outsourced system which doesn’t need capital to set up and won’t create administrative and technical burdens for IT staff.
- Mobile workers: Sales and service staff using laptops and running Outlook 2003 over a wireless network, are free to roam and communicate. Alternately users can work from home, executives from abroad, customer sites, wireless hotspots, the list continues.
- Security: Hosted Exchange is built on a foundation of secure and redundant systems, all of which are managed by GAMCO. Firewalls, back-up devices, content inspection systems and fail-over hardware are some of the features that enable Business Gateway to provide a fault-tolerant and secure service.
- Easy Administration: Ease of administration for managing mailboxes: provisioning is handled via a browser which permits remote management of user mailboxes. Users can be created, deleted, renamed and their service plans changed all online.

Note:

- The contract period for the pricing quoted above is 12 months.
- A minimum of 1 GB will be charged for. Storage is based on the combined storage allocated across the user base, and is charged per GB or part thereof.
- Users require XP with Service pack 2, and Outlook 2003 to make use of Hosted Exchange Premium.
